What a year 2018 has been! We've seen some incredible growth and developed some invaluable partnerships. With the holiday season just around the corner, we've taken some time to reflect on everything we've done and accomplished throughout the year. From launching our products and token sale to attending incredible events - you can read all about our 2018 year in review below.
At the beginning of the year we became a core part of the Centrality ecosystem. This move gave us the opportunity to work with a company already doing great things in the blockchain space, and help realise our common vision for a decentralised world.
We also launched our eKYC and cAML product offerings, with partner Blockhaus being among the first companies to be using them to provide a high degree of trust and transparency to the market (and regulators) over the ICOs that they manage.
After launching our product offering and further developing investor networks, we launched Round A (pre-sale) of the SingleSource token sale, which sold out over a weekend. The pre-sale raised US $5,000,000 and enabled SingleSource to assemble a best in class team over the coming months to develop the SingleSource Platform ready for market.
June proved to be a big month for the SingleSource team! We launched the prototype of our dApp, which was demoed live on stage by Aaron McDonald at the Japan Blockchain Conference which saw over 13,000 attendees over two days. This was our first opportunity to interact with a large scale of organisations and consumers, and get a feel for their receptiveness to the SingleSource product - and the response was incredible!
We also announced our partnership with renewable energy company, Eloom. Eloom needed a KYC solution to secure their investor verification process for their own STO. We're very proud to have had the opportunity to partner with such an innovative company, and a great bunch of people.
We were very excited to receive our first two government agency approvals. This included becoming an official Identity Confirmation Service Intermediary for the Department of Internal Affairs in New Zealand, and being granted access to the Drivers License Verification Service with NZ Transport Agency. This service has been integrated directly into the SingleSource blockchain identity solution and dApp, allowing direct verification of NZ passports, citizenships and drivers licenses - a world's first for a blockchain start up in the digital identity space!
In September we hit another milestone - achieving USD $350m of investments screened across six major ICOs using the SingleSource platform!
I also had the opportunity to visit Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur with our partner, Sylo. Here we met with investors and organisations active within the blockchain space, and we had the opportunity to attend Blocfest Asia - Malaysia's first international blockchain conference. This trip gave us great insights into how vibrant the blockchain tech landscape is in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur, which was really inspiring to be a part of.
Probably one of the most action packed months of the SingleSource calendar! Our biggest moment was launching our main token sale, which was celebrated with cake and bubbles.
SingleSource was also awarded the GECKO Governance Stamp of Attestation, which showcases that our ICO complies with published crypto rules from global jurisdictions. This was a huge accomplishment, as it provides investors with transparency, compliance and accountability into their crypto investments via SingleSource. GECKO also launched their Crypto1 product offering, which is using the SingleSource eKYC solution to power their customer onboarding and proof of funds process.
IoT provider Jasmy announced plans to integrate SingleSource eKYC product into its platform, which allows individuals to gain the right to their own data safely and securely. This was previously unavailable on traditional IoT platforms, and now allows Jasmy to roll this framework out across a wide range of industries and businesses. It's great to be a part of something innovative like this!
Lastly, we had the opportunity to attend Blockworks in Auckland and demo the SingleSource product on stage with Aaron McDonald. I was also invited to feature on the Digital Identity panel with a range of other great minds in NZ.

We received our accreditation as a Document Verification Service (DVS) Gateway Service Provider (GSP) from the Australian Government. This means the SingleSource eKYC solution is used to verify passports, citizenship, driver licenses and other identity records against information held in the Australian Government's database - another world's first for a decentralised identity solution having more than one government accreditation to verify identity information directly with government databases.
We also partnered with NZ insurance company Delta Insurance, to reinforce their cybersecurity solution. By using the SingleSource eKYC solution, they are able to better protect their customers from identity theft and reduce cybercrime.
Singapore FinTech Festival was a huge highlight for the SingleSource team, where we exhibited with partners Centrality and Sylo. Among exhibiting the SingleSource product and meeting thousands of inspiring people and organisations, I had the opportunity to demonstrate SingleSource’s automated onboarding workflow on the Blockchain open stage. We also got to meet NZ Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern!
It’s a wrap! Singapore Fintech Festival has been a blast. Thanks for coming out and getting to know Centrality, @sylo @mysinglesource and GlobalChain Group. Now it’s time to see, feel and experience daylight - oh, and our feet. #SGFinTechFest2018 #CentralityOnTour 🚀 pic.twitter.com/LXhXK1lVns— Centrality (@centralityai) November 14, 2018
As we began to wrap up the year, we still had plenty happening at SingleSource! We were awarded a Callaghan Innovation R&D grant to further develop the product offering, and roll out streamlined digital identity management sooner.
We also announced the launch of Digital Identity NZ, in which we are a founding partner alongside Centrality, Sylo and an array of other organisations. This is a really exciting initiative aiming to connect various group and individuals, share knowledge, showcase the benefits and opportunities of digital identity, and implement digital strategies for secure and trusted identity management NZ wide. Watch this space for more news on how decentralisation can transform NZ identities in 2019...
